: This slate of games has no shortage of arms and while I think the potential for Archer to have a high strikeout game is good, we have not been able to trust him giving up runs. Detroit is a team that will strikeout but also pack a powerful punch that can turn a good outing into a bad in just one inning. All things considered Archer makes for a very solid tournament play today but I would not trust him past that and we do not need to with a couple of aces on the mound today.

: It has been a fantastic season for Zimmermann so far in terms of pitching deep into games and picking up wins. The problem is he does not strikeout enough batters and some of his numbers suggest we will see a fair amount of regression from him as the season moves on. Today he is a middle of the pack pitcher that you would only want to test out on multiple pitcher sites if the price is right. I do not think he is worth the price on either of the major sites considering the options we have.

The Rays have been swinging a hot bat with almost the entire lineup posting a wOBA over .350 in the last fourteen days. This is a team putting up solid runs on a nightly basis and often go overlooked in the DFS community making them viable filler options today.

Detroit
We have several dangerous players up and down this lineup for Archer today and you have to start with who is obviously one of the best hitters in baseball and comes in swinging a hot bat. Something to note is that has come out of the gates blazing and not only is he getting on base regularly but the stolen bases are already stacking up making him a fine play.

: With Anderson there is not much we have to like today outside of the ballpark he is pitching in. He is a flyball pitcher who has allowed hard contact too often and does not strikeout enough batters to make up for it. This is an easy fade for me and I will be targeting Mets hitters today instead. Oh yeah, he also has the luxury of facing so that win bonus is even less likely.

: One of the best strikeout pitchers in the game will face a Milwaukee squad that is striking out more than any other team in the league against right handed pitching. Even with another high profile pitcher or two on the slate this is an easy top choice for best pitching option on the day. The past two big name Mets have struggled a bit here against the Brewers but make no mistake Thor is the ace of the squad and we need to treat him as such.

Milwaukee
I strongly advise that you fade the Brewers here today in this matchup and if you want to take a flier on some low owned guys there is plenty of opportunity to do that elsewhere. If you insist on going with a Milwaukee player then the only guy you can begin to think about would be who has been very solid on the year.

NY Mets
New York has not exactly been tearing it up at the plate in recent weeks but do pack a mighty punch from several spots in the lineup. This is a case where even though they are not necessarily hitting it well right now I prefer to get some of these bats in my lineup against Anderson today. will continue to see solid pitches as long as he has (the lone bright spot lately) batting behind him.

This game features two pitchers that we can pretty much ignore in terms of using them in our lineups. Miley is allowing more flyballs this season than we saw from him last year and the hard hit percentage is up as well giving us reason to take a peak at guys like Cozart and Duvall as low owned options today.

It honestly amazes me when teams continue to roll out a pitcher such as Simon every five days. There is nothing to like about his game today as he has allowed a high wOBA to left handed bats putting the Mariners square on our radar as bats we want to look at.

Seattle
This is a situation where the Seattle lefties find themselves in a matchup with a guy who can give up production with the best of them. You can make a case for all of there everyday players and as bad as Simon is we can even put together some stacks with the lesser owned guys as well. I would expect them to be one of the more popular teams today and with very good reason.

Even though Miley is not a world beater we really do not have a ton of options from this Reds lineup. This is a case where I would prefer to pick and choose a couple bats here and there with often under owned and a pretty solid option considering the position. All in all we can play some Reds but it is still a risk going heavy.

: Scherzer is a guy who I always grab exposure to whenever he takes the mound and today is a case where he makes for a great tournament option considering most will flock to as the cash option. We have obvious strikeout potential and the Marlins are not a team that has hit right handed pitching all that well on the year. You do not need me to tell you Scherzer is a great option here today, but I will remind you not to go all in on the other studs today. Get some exposure.

: Conley has been surprisingly good for the Marlins on the season with a good groundball percentage as well as strikeout rate that is a bit higher than we might have anticipated. With the pitching we have today I am not really willing to plug him in against one of the best southpaw hitting lineups in the league and if you are being stubborn and ignoring me please only do that on multiple pitcher sites.
Batter Grind Down
Washington
The Nationals pack quite a punch against lefties ranking first in both wOBA and ISO which should have you immediately looking to this lineup as a source of production today. Something to note is the struggle that Conley has had with left handed bats (small sample alert) so sticking with and if you are stacking would be a wise proposition.

Miami
This is a curious case here because on the surface you would say fade Miami if you like Scherzer as much as I do. The thing is we have capable bats in this lineup it has been the inconsistency all season that has plagued them. If you are going to play Miami bats my suggestion is that you go for it and stack them in a tournament where you have multiple lineups, outside of that I really do not want anything to do with them.

There is not a lot we know about Kelly as his journey has been a long one. In a limited sample that spans several years he has had a low strikeout rate and SIERA and xFIP in the low four range. Even with a cheap price and a matchup against the Phillies I do not see a reason to risk it here unless you are throwing together a ton of lineups and want to take a flier on the guy.

The Braves are obviously a team we want to pick on as much as possible with pitching and Eickhoff is a guy I love on multiple pitcher sites today. While he has struggled a bit against this Atlanta team the overall numbers suggest we can pitch him as a secondary pitcher due to a very affordable price point. I am not saying go all-in on Eickhoff but some exposure is certainly suggested.
Batter Grind Down
Atlanta
Given the struggle with Eickhoff to retire left handed bats I would expect to see as many as six or seven in the order today. The thing is just because you are left handed does not mean you are a good play. In reality is the only player I want from this Braves squad and even that is in question due to the lack of protection.

Philadelphia
Again the sample is small on Kelly so it is hard to say what exactly we are looking for here. The fact is Philadelphia does not have a ton to offer from an offensive standpoint and as such I would lean on a fade for the most part. is a guy who has been hot lately and probably makes the most sense outside of who is still too cheap on FanDuel.
