has had an up and down early going this season as he has allowed five or more earned runs in three of his first six starts this season. Yet, his advanced numbers show the elite pitcher the Red Sox got as he sports a 2.70 SIERA and elite 30.6% strikeout rate. The Yankees are lefty heavy at the front of the order, which does bode well for Price, but he did just struggle last week in this same matchup. I would rather pay up for Kershaw, but Price is still a solid option.

Eovaldi comes into this game with a 24.4% strikeout rate and a solid SIERA of 3.26, which shows some bad luck has occurred in order for him to have his 5.46 ERA. He is not an option today against a solid Boston offense that had ten hits and six earned runs against him just last week.
Batter Grind Down
Boston
As slight favorites today, the Red Sox feature a projected team total of 3.90 against Eovaldi. Eovaldi has struggled so far this year, allowing a .411 wOBA to bats from the left side of the plate as well as allowing a .302 wOBA to right-handed bats. They are not the top offense to attack early, but do have some solid choices.

While Price has shut down left-handed bats (.246 wOBA), he has allowed a wOBA of .339 to righties so far this year. This Yankees team has the seventh lowest total on the board today and are slight underdogs, making them an offense we can stay away from during the day slate.

There is not a whole lot we need to say about Kershaw at this point. He comes into this game with a 32% strikeout rate, a 2.13 SIERA and is coming off a shutout, 14 K gem in his last start. The matchup is much tougher in the Blue Jays who were the best hitting team last year against lefties, but this is a special lefty. He is the top option of the day slate today if you can pay up for him.

Griffin was shockingly good in Rogers Centre last Monday and will look to repeat the performance against another tough offense in Detroit. Most surprising in that game was his nine strikeouts, which raised his K rate to a decent 21.3%. His 4.16 SIERA shows some regression is in order, which could happen today against the Tigers who feature some solid bats in the front of their lineup today.

Locke has been decent to start the year as he has allowed three or less earned runs in four of his five starts. Looking closer at his advanced numbers, he comes into the game with a 4.80 SIERA and a 17.1% strikeout rate, which does drop his overall value a good deal. He gets a tough matchup against the Cardinals who are second in the league in runs scored per game. Although the Cards are much better at hitting right-handed pitching, Locke is an easy avoid in the day slate.

Wainwright has had a very interesting start to the year as he has put up a 5.14 SIERA (6.68 ERA). He had a cupcake matchup on Monday against the Phillies, but still allowed three earned runs over six, while just striking out four. His salary is coming down to a point where we have to really think about playing him, especially on DK today, but the risk is obviously still there as he have not seen any signs of him turning it around. Avoid him today, unless you want to buy low.

Wainwright has really struggled this year, but has pitched very solid against this Pirates squad in recent seasons. Over the last three years, Waino has a 2.73 ERA in nine starts against this Pirates squad. Yet, they are a sneaky stack against Wainwright who has pitched poorly so far this year.

Gray should be very happy that he gets to have two starts in a row away from Coors. Gray has some upside when he gets away starts due to his 34.3% strikeout rate. His SIERA is also at a solid 2.33 after his three starts. For his price, he makes a decent GPP play, but does have a tough matchup against the Giants who are ranked 5th currently in team wOBA vs right-handed pitching.

Cueto burned a lot of people on Monday as he came off his best start of the season, only to get blown up against his former team for six earned runs in just five innings. Cueto should bounce back against the Rockies today, as he comes into this matchup with a 3.16 SIERA and 24.1% strikeout rate. Cueto makes for a solid option today as a big favorite against the Rockies and is ranked just behind Sale and Kershaw. If you are deciding between a Price or Cueto play, use their salaries as a final decider as Cueto is cheaper at DK, while Price is cheaper at FD.

Colorado
Cueto is a large favorite today against the Rockies who have a projected team total of 3.37, which is the fourth lowest of the entire day. You can avoid their offense for the most part, but they do have some cheap options, especially at DK.
