: Coming off of his worst game of the season, Carrasco will look to rebound today against a New York squad that gave him some trouble prior to the All-Star break. On one hand, we want to trust his stuff facing a team that has generally been bad against right-handed pitching on the season. On the other hand, it is hard to ignore the fact that he got ripped apart by the Twins last time out. Considering the options available to us, it is a situation where I would not play him as much more than a tournament option today until we can see an improved strikeout rate with consecutive quality starts.

: Much like Carrasco, we have not seen the best of Tanaka lately, as he has allowed a ton of base runners in his past two starts against the Mets and Astros. Cleveland has been one of the top offenses against right-handed pitching on the season, and with his recent form, it is hard to trust Tanaka here. The best part about Sunday slates are the vast amount of pitching, making a matchup like this easier to fade or limit exposure to.

Cleveland
Cleveland: The Indians have been a strong offense against right-handers all season long, and with that short porch in right inviting fly balls into the seats, I like the lefties in particular today. We do not need to go too crazy with exposure, just take notice of how well they have done in the power department.

New York: This team does not offer much in the way of offense, and even with Carrasco struggling a bit, it is hard to trust too many bats here. Overall, I think we want to stick to the lefties for the Yankees as well, but they simply do not have a ton of options for fantasy purposes.

Jacob deGrom: As Stevietpfl likes to call him, deGoat is looking every bit as impressive as he was last season. He is completely behind the tough start to the year and has sporting some very healthy numbers. Do not get me wrong: this Detroit team can pack a punch. But deGrom has been able to contain everyone put in front him for the better part of two months now pitching at least six innings with six strikeouts in all but two of his last ten games. He is without question one of the top arms going today and should be considered a very solid play in all formats.

: The All-Star break must have done Sanchez some good, as he had only gone six innings in three of his first eight starts but has managed to do so in each of his three starts since the break. It has not all been good in that span, as he has allowed 23 hits and five walks in just 18 innings. The 17 strikeouts are thanks large in part to a ten strikeout effort against the Twins, and he has only managed five and two in the following games. This is just a long-winded way of saying Sanchez cannot be trusted, and we should not let one high-strikeout performance fool us into thinking he is playable here.

NY Mets
New York: The Mets have been pretty poor overall on the season, but Sanchez is a guy who makes me want at least some exposure to them today. We are looking for that home run upside, and is clearly an option with also able to pack a punch and typically at a lower ownership. With the overall struggles, it is suggested we do not over-extend on Mets but use them as filler instead.

: Gibson has been all over the place in his past five starts, with the best result coming against arguably the toughest opponent in Boston. The modest strikeout rate mixed with inconsistency make this an easy fade for me given the fact that we have some solid options at reasonable prices. Gibson has been getting himself into too much trouble far too often, and while the Rays are someone you can attack with righties this just is not the type of pitcher we want.

: With Matt Moore shipped to San Francisco, it will be Andriese who takes his spot in the rotation for Tampa. The biggest thing to note here is that he will be on a pitch count of around 80-90 pitches, so although the numbers as a starter are pretty solid for this price point,we need to realize the potential is a bit limited by a slightly lower pitch count. The Twins have snuck up the leader boards in multiple categories offensively against right-handed pitching but still strikeout at a solid clip. Overall, Andriese is a player you can look at for riskier tournament teams where we are trying to squeeze bats in.

Tampa Bay
Tampa: This may be a situation where I like Tampa more than most and I am okay with that. Gibson is not a terrible pitcher by any means, but he is someone that will pitch himself into trouble and that team ISO is proof that the Rays can make you pay in a hurry. : There was probably a fair amount of Straily tilt for his owners last time out, as he was pulled very early despite pitching well against the Cardinals, and while he is not a high strikeout guy, we have seen him pitch pretty well lately. The Pirates continue to be a mediocre offense against right-handed pitching, but Straily is nothing more than a secondary option and his price on DK is too high to consider him.

: In his four starts since coming off of the DL, Cole has gone 24 innings with 22 strikeouts, allowing seven earned runs and producing a ground ball 54.3% of the time. Those are all very solid numbers and given the other options and pricing we could be looking at a candidate to be overlooked here. The Reds are clearly a team we can pick on with their higher strikeout rate and poor offensive numbers, making Cole one of my favorite plays on the day.

Cincinnati
Cincinnati: With the recent form that we have seen from Cole and the lack of production outside of a couple players for Cincy, this is a team I would not mind fading completely. If you do want a piece of the Reds, then the obvious choices are Votto and Duvall for their upside.

Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh: This is one of those situations where a pitcher is decent, but it does not translate to fantasy ,making it hard to read what we should do with the opposing team. Overall, there are some solid options in this Pirates lineup but not enough to stack against Straily. Keep an eye out for , who has been seeing playing time with Polanco hurt.

: Bumgarner got ripped apart by the Phillies (of all teams), allowing eight runs (four earned) on 10 hits in just five innings. That game was completely out of character for him, as it was the first time in 19 starts he failed to pitch six innings. This is a good test case to see how much one really bad outing can affect a pitchers ownership as Bumgarner should be considered one of the top arms on the day.

: He is one of the more frustrating pitchers to try to predict, as his game seems to be up and down as much as any pitcher I can think of. He did have a pretty good start against these Giants two starts ago but only managed three strikeouts in seven innings of work. I do not see another random 15-strikeout game coming for Roark anytime soon, and this really is not a matchup we would expect him to excel. All things considered, there is pretty good reason to fade him on this slate.
