: This game should feature a fair amount of offense, and that means we are going to be looking elsewhere for pitching today. Gee does not have the strikeout number we need against this tough Rangers squad that ranks higher offensively than just about anyone gives them credit for. The pitching pool is certainly weak, but not enough to make me start .

: Coming over from Atlanta, this will be his first start in a Rangers uniform, and while he pitched pretty well after getting called up in early July, this is not a guy who projects well in fantasy due to a modest strikeout rate and struggles to pitch deep into games. As I mentioned with Gee, this game is projected to be one with many runs and Harrell is not a guy we want here.

: I am not going to lie: the experience is one that I have not enjoyed this season. Personally, his success feels a bit like smoke and mirrors to me, and I simply have not been able to convince myself to start him. Last time out it worked out in my favor, but the time before that, it was a completely different story. What we do know is that the Angels do not strike out a ton, and Wright is coming off of a game where he was hit hard against the Tigers. At his price point, I do not trust him to get me the points I need.

: He had been pitching very well in AAA before his start against the Royals and appears to have brought that command with him to the big leagues. Unfortunately, he will be facing one of the most powerful offenses in the league, making him an extremely risky start today. With that said, I really like his game, and if you are taking a chance on a high risk tournament team today, then Skaggs is the type of pitcher that I would like at.

: Maybe Gio just needed to give his arm a little break as he has been pretty solid in his two starts after the All-Star break. The Giants are not necessarily a team I like to go after with pitching because they have been tough to strikeout but with his pricing I like Gonzalez as a possible secondary option on DK today specifically.

: If the red in his pitching chart was not enough of a sign to fade Cain, then I worry about you. Honestly though, his strikeout rate is too low and the runs have continued to pile up on Cain this year. The Nationals may be a bit of a disappointment overall against right-handed pitching, but still very capable of pushing runs across the plate here.

: He has not pitched into the seventh inning since June 21st when he went six and one thirds innings against the Blue Jays. There is not a ton of upside with this play, but after a rough start last outing, he settled in quite nicely. Even more important is that Corbin verbalized that he felt really good about how he threw later in that game. I am not ready to take a stab yet, but let’s keep an eye on Corbin, as maybe he found something in that game.

: The struggle is real for me to consider Norris a top option, but here we are. Not only has he pitched pretty well on the year, but his strikeout numbers are up, mitigating some of the risk as well as a very solid price point. If you are going to attack Arizona, it should be away from their ballpark, and with a right-hander that has a solid K rate as Arizona ranks near the bottom of the league in that department. All things considered, you can do a lot worse than today and he is likely to be a pretty popular play for those looking to pay down. On DK, he is a very good secondary pitching option to pair with Kluber or Syndergaard.

Homer Bailey: In his first start back from Tommy John surgery, Bailey will have about as good a matchup as you can ask for. The Padres in PetCo is a dream scenario for a right-hander at this point, but it would be a bit ambitious to roll Bailey out there without seeing what he has. I would not be shocked to see him pitch very well but just understand there is a lot of risk here and they are not going to push him.

: Well with the Padres trading away their staff someone has to fill in the rotation and Clemens is one of those someones. In his three starts this season we have seen the opposition just crushing the ball against him as well as his inability to control the walks which have been an issue. He does not make enough bats miss and because of that we simply cannot play him here.

: King no more? Felix has looked pretty awful in his two starts after a long DL stint and finds himself up against it as the Cubs are no slouch offensively. I simply do not trust him to get the job done at this point and especially not at this price point. We need to see more of the old Felix before we can even consider rostering him in a situation like this.

Brian Matusz: This is the game of the unknown on the mound for Sunday Night Baseball as Matusz will take the hill for Chicago after signing with the club last month. He has pitched well in a small sample for their AAA affiliate, but it remains to be seen if he can translate some of that success in the big leagues. The Mariners are not a team to be messed with, and with that I would not take the risk.
