After giving up five runs in his first start of the season, he has bounced back with two strong starts in a row against the Padres and Cubs. While I never like to target members of this Rockies’ starting rotation, his numbers aren’t half bad. Since the start of last season, he has a 4.12 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 19.4%. I’m not suggesting to play him today, but he’s not as bad of a pitcher as most people seem to think that he is.

Iglesias is the best pitching value in both the early-only and the all-day slates. When it comes to pitching in DFS, we care about strikeouts first, then the chance of a win, and then the potential runs allowed. Iglesias is still a bit raw, but he boasts an elite strikeout rate of 25.3% since the start of last season. His strikeouts have been down a bit this season, but the Rockies are a team that can help his cause. They have the 13th highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching over the last two seasons. Iglesias is playable in both cash games and GPPs.

The Rockies may be ranked second in team wOBA and fist in team ISO against right-handed pitching, but those numbers are skewed by Coors Field. On the road, they are a middling offense. They have a slightly below-average team total today at 3.81 runs. I’m not going to target any Rockies in cash games, but has allowed a .328 wOBA to left-handed hitters.

Hendricks is a pitcher that routinely flies under the radar, despite sporting a 3.33 SIERA and a strikeout rate of 22.4%. He doesn’t give up a lot of hard contact and he produces a ground ball rate over 51.9%. He is underpriced for his talent level, but it’s hard to recommend him over , especially when you factor in the matchups. Since the start of last season, the Cardinals are ranked fourth in team wOBA and tenth in strikeout rate against right-handed pitching.

If you look at their pitcher ratings, I have and Martinez ranked pretty close overall, although Iglesias comes at a significant discount. Of the two, I prefer Iglesias in all league formats. Martinez is certainly in play on multi-pitcher sites, though. Over the last two seasons, he has a 3.46 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 24.1%. Today’s matchup against the Cubs is of the boom or bust variety. The Cubs are ranked ninth in team wOBA against right-handed pitching, but 29th in strikeout rate.

On paper, the Cubs draw a difficult matchup against . However, if you look at his splits, the Cubs lineup has the right pieces to succeed here. Since the start of 2015, Martinez has allowed a .330 wOBA and ten home runs to left-handed hitters. His strikeout rate also dips significantly against hitters from that side of the plate. There aren’t any elite plays here, but the Cubs are decent lineup fillers in both cash games and GPPs.

Walker has only struck out eight batters in his first two starts this season, but the matchups haven’t exactly been strikeout-friendly. He has the same problem tonight against the Indians, who have had the seventh lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching over the last two seasons. If this game was being played in Seattle, it may be a different story. However, Walker is listed as a sizable underdog on the road. There are better pitching options to target tonight.

His pitch count does tend to get up there by the fifth or sixth inning, but the Indians will let him throw 105+ pitches if necessary. The Mariners have really struggled with right-handed pitching, ranking 17th in team wOBA and 26th in strikeout rate over the last two seasons. Colon is a bit of an anomaly. He is nearly 43 years old and he still has a SIERA under 4.00. He doesn’t have a high strikeout at this point in his career, but he rarely walks any batters and he is still dirt cheap on DraftKings ($5,500). He has a decent chance to pick up the win in a favorable matchup against the Phillies. There are enough options that I don’t think you have to go that cheap in cash games, but Colon is a decent play for the price.

Hellickson has pitched better than most people give him credit for, posting a 4.07 SIERA with a strikeout rate of 19.4% over the last two seasons. The Mets have been tough on opposing pitchers recently (see and ). Hellickson should fly under the radar and he’s not the worst GPP play, but I will likely have zero exposure to him tonight.

NY Mets
- Mets Offense
Team wOBA vs. RHP — 0.307 (19 of 30)
Team ISO vs. RHP — 0.151 (10 of 30)
Runs Per Game — 3.50 (22 of 30)
Projected Run Total — 4.19 (9 of 30)
The Mets draw a decent matchup tonight against , who has allowed a .321+ wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters. New York has the ninth highest team total on the board and Citizens Bank Park is actually a pretty decent park for offensive production.

The Phillies have a couple of interesting plays tonight. While they don’t hit right-handed pitching well as a team, does have a bad outing every now and then. The main reason why the Phillies are on my radar is how cheap their hitters are. The average salary of their projected starters is $2,375 on FanDuel and $3,200 on DraftKings.
