Jeff “yellowsub” Williams is perhaps more well known for his poker prowess having won more than two million dollars in the game including a European Poker Tour Main Event win at the ripe old age of 19. His lineup started with rock-solid pitching from Luis Castillo and Mike Clevinger with the two hurlers combining for over 60 fpts. Then it went to the chalk Cubs stack that did not disappoint as Chicago put up 17 runs and the five players in Williams stack (Avila-Rizzo-Bryant-Jay-Schwarber) combined for 92 fpts. The remaining three players in the winning lineup were from the Detroit Tigers and those hitters (Kinsler, Machado, Upton) chipped in another 38 fpts to give yellowsub his winning score of 191.25.

Second and third place finishers PetrGibbons and Jquave76 would both benefit from a low-owned Cub named Tommy LaStella after he put up a monster game that included two home runs. There was a three-way tie for 4th between dacoltz, youdacao, and DinkPiece and RotoGrinders own boggslite was the next man up in 7th place. DFS personality tommyg1979 finished in a tie for 8th with Cuddy120 and the top 10 rounded out with well known DFS player DraftCheat.

10:35 pm ET

The Cubs scored more runs and Tommy LaStella’s second home run of the night did cause a minor shift in the standings as PetrGibbons and Jquave76 passed the three-way tie for 2nd and 3rd respectively. The only game left on the books is the Padres-Marlins affair that has gone into extra innings and barring some bizarre ending (Giancarlo Stanton was 20% owned) it looks like a done deal as far as our final standings go. I’ll be back in the morning to wrap this up but for now I’ll leave you with the current top 10…

9:50 pm ET

The only thing that has changed in the last 25 minutes is the Cubs have quit scoring runs. Yellowsub continues to lead comfortably with Dinkpiece, youdacao, and dacoltz all tied for 2nd (Dinkpiece and youdacao have identical lineups). DraftCheat rounds out the top 5. It should be over soon and we’ll be back with the final standings and winning lineup when it ends.

9:24 pm ET

The Cubs have put up 13 thus far and yellowsub continues to hold a commanding lead as it’s now up to over 25 points on youdacao. Mr. Williams looks to be in solid position to take home the $500K first-place prize money. Some huge names reside in the top 10 including the aforementioned youdacao, DraftCheat, Dinkpiece, and RotoGrinders contributor boggslite. Here’s a look at the current top 10.

8:30 pm ET

The chalk has hit hard as Kris Bryant homered and that was followed up by yet another Anthony Rizzo bomb. Yellowsub has distanced himself from his competitors with a 20 point margin over the current second place lineup of youdacao. All the games have reached the bottom of the fifth or later but there’s still time for some offensive fireworks to change things.

8:30 pm ET

Yellowsub has taken the lead from DraftCheat with stellar pitching from Luis Castillo and Mike Clevinger leading the way for his Cubs/Tigers stacks. It’s a star-studded top ten, however, with youdacao having two spots in the top ten and the likes of fallfromgrace, rayofhope, and Dinkpiece also in contention.

8:05 pm ET

A home run from Anthony Rizzo (at 23% owned) means the chalky Cubs stack has hit and that has shifted the standings and moved one of DraftCheat’s 5 lineups into the top spot. The former RG GrindersLive host paired that stack with Rhys Hoskins and Justin Upton – both of whom have homered – and the SP combo of Luis Castillo and Sean Newcomb. Former top professional poker player Jeff Williams, aka yellowsub, is not far behind in second place.

7:43 pm ET

Our first look at the leaderboard sees seneca84 out in front with a Rays stack (benefiting from a Lucas Duda homer) and a one-off of the hot Rhys Hoskins (who hit yet another home run tonight). Solid starts thus far from Luis Castillo and Mike Clevinger rounds out his lineup. Also currently in the top 10 are IamPGM and DraftCheat. We’ll be back in 20 or so minutes with another update.
