Jake Arrieta: He is but a mortal now, and even with that said, I like Arrieta today against the Astros, who strike out in bunches. Arrietta is not the elite pitcher we had seen for a better part of a year, and there is some concern that Houston could plate some runs, making him more of a risk/reward option than anything else for this slate.

Cubs: The Cubs’ offensive numbers have faded a bit over the second half, but they are still one of the more potent offenses in the league and have pretty good potential against Fiers tonight.

Houston
Astros: As you can see by the wOBA L30, this Astros team is capable of putting up runs but find themselves in a tough matchup today. They will likely carry a low ownership, and for that reason, you can play them as a flyer team in a tournament. Still, I would not go too crazy with it.

Matt Andriese: Anytime a pitcher gives up seven runs in back-to-back starts, it is time to take notice. Although those games were against two of the more potent offenses in the league, it is a clear sign we need to beware of Andriese today, and I am far more likely to stack against him than use him in my lineups.

Blue Jays: I am a sucker for Toronto bats, and as such tend to be higher on them than most. It has paid off more than once for me, and a quick glance at the ISO column should give you a better understand of the potential here.

James Paxton: The A’s are a team we all love to attack, and Paxton is a guy who can give us the strikeouts we crave. He did struggle to keep runs off the board in his previous start but still managed to strikeout a bunch of guys in the process. With this matchup, I like Paxton today, and he makes for a fine outside-the-box play.
